These sessions are about more than having nice photos taken. They are a record of your family as you are now.
The longer I spend with your family, the more honest the photographs can become.
You will never have these moments back. I photograph this time as it is, before it quietly changes.
I’m currently offering a limited number of documentary family sessions at introductory rates:
Short session — £200
Around 1.5–2 hours
Ideal for maternity, couples or newborn days.
Half day — £300
Around 4 hours
Enough time to give your family the time and space to simply be together.
Full day — £800
Around 8 hours
A fuller record of your day as it really was: slow mornings, meals, play, tiredness, chaos, quiet moments and all the feelings that make your family.
All sessions include a private online gallery of carefully edited images.
There is no formula.
I don't want you to have additional stress. Just think of me as a friend coming over for a cup of tea who happens to have a camera with them.
We can follow your daily routine or have a day out.
I approach each session individually so I can capture your family in a way that suits your family's style and personality.
I won't ask you to dress a certain way or behave differently for the camera. The more you can be yourself, the more natural your photos will feel.
As a documentary photographer I tend to spend more time observing than taking photos, waiting for moments to unfold rather than directing them.
The first moments are often about everyone getting comfortable with me, forgetting about the camera, and simply being themselves. This is where the session starts to take its own shape.
You do not need to organise anything. Just do what you would normally do together.
Real life is welcome here. Kids might have tantrums, someone might get grumpy (or hangry), plans might change, and sometimes a child simply decides that today is not the day. That's all part of life and completely fine.

Children don't need to behave.
They just need to be themselves.

Are these sessions right for us?
If you want family photos but you don't like your photos taken, find posing awkward and cringey, or you simply want photos that feel like your family, then these sessions are for you!
The sessions differ very much from typical lifestyle photography, where you dress in your "best" clothes, are told where to stand and when to smile. None of that!
There will be no forced fun. No cheesy games. No telling you what to do. You don't have to perform in any way.
Documentary family photography is unscripted and with no expectation of flawless home or perfectly behaved children.
I will capture real moments, so you can have beautiful and meaningful memories of how your life was. Not how the photographer made it look.
Will it feel awkward?
You will be aware of my presence but it will likely only feel a little bit unusual for the first hour or so.
I won't be a proverbial 'fly on the wall'. I’m coming to spend time with you, talk to you, and be part of the day while I photograph it. I won’t be hiding in a corner or sneaking pictures from far away. A lot of the time I’ll be close to what’s happening.
I won't be photographing all the time. Even when I’m not actively taking photographs, I’m still paying attention. I’m watching what’s happening, where the light is falling, how people are moving, and where a photograph might begin to come together.
